The training, which is meant to enhance their effectiveness and prepare the staff for future projects, is in line with the agency's overriding objective to support the country's quest for industrialisation by exploring for steel raw materials across the country.

New Director General of NSRMEA Pledges Commitment to Agency's Sustained Growth
Mr. Ogunbiyi took over from the former DG of the agency, Dr. Umar Albarka Hassan in July 2022. He now heads the affairs of the NSRMEA following a rich background of broad experience spanning over 30 years in various capacities. Before his current position, Mr. Ogunbiyi was the Head, Iron and Ferro Alloy department at the agency where he oversaw and supervised several exploration projects in search of iron-ore and other steel raw materials.
