The Geophysics Unit uses naturally occurring fields and artificially generated perturbations, and their interpretations to identity ore deposits, delineate rock boundaries, establish structural controls, estimate formation thicknesses and depth to bedrock, using a combination of methods.

Among the services on offer are:

- Location of water borehole drilling point using Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) and Resistivity Profiling (RP) methods.

- Engineering Foundation Studies using VES method.
Bridge site survey using VES,RP and Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) methods.

- Dam site investigation using VES,RP and VLF-EM methods.

- Fracture mapping for Regional water survey using VLF-EM, VES and RP methods.

- Mineral surveys using VES, RP and VLF-EM methods.
