The DG said apart from demerging the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development to create a full-fledged Ministry of Steel Development, the government has shown genuine concern for the development of the steel sector.

He now heads the affairs of the NSRMEA following a rich background of broad experience spanning over 30 years in various capacities. Before his current position, Mr. Ogunbiyi was the Head, Iron and Ferro Alloy department at the agency where he oversaw and supervised several exploration projects in search of iron-ore and other steel raw materials.
